About The Vessel

Production of the Salar 40 began in 1965 with the A.H. Moody production group (UK). 1966 marked the completion of the very first Salar 40, named 'Dorcelle in Iroko'. This very first vessel became the model for future models of the vessel. There are no official records of how many were built.
The beautiful Salar 40 quickly gained interest as numerous other production companies joined in, including Essex Yacht Builders (UK) and SNS (Mel, Aus). 1971 marked the completion date of the very first Salar 40 produced in Melbourne, Australia. Some 10 years after the completion of the very first Salar 40 ever built, 7 companies were already producing the yacht.
The vessel was built in 8 cities across 3 countries, with producers using an array of materials from GDP to mahogany and even steel.
Beldisha, specifically, was manufactured by Aquarius Yachts (Brisbane). Beldisha was the last Salar 40 built, the livery lives on in the classical and recognisable exterior of the beautiful vessel.
The Salar 40 has had a fascinating past and will always be the superior choice in it's class.
